AT MAREEBA

visits since 7 February 2006

B-17E Flying Fortress

USAAF B-17F #41-24428 of the 19th Bombardment Group, crashed at Mareeba on the 6 February 1942.  The pilot was Major Humrichouse.

Frank Hohmann, ex 19th Bomb Group and 43rd Bomb Group, told me that he had flown 3 missions in this aircraft.
