MCINTOSH BUILDING
USED BY THE MILITARY
DURING WW2

The following Units of the 5th Air Force Service Command were located in the McIntosh Building (McIntosh Motors building) in Brisbane in October 1943:-

Office of the Commanding General Office of the Chief of Staff Adjutant General
Engineering Division Chaplain Finance Office
Supply section of Headquarters Commandant group Chief of Personnel Information Section
Supply Division Special Service Training and Operations
Factory Representative    

 

The Mcintosh Motors building was used by the Royal Navy (British) later in the war as the Royal Navy Victualling Store.

This building may have also been known as the Willoughby Building. In 2007 one of the tenants in the building was the Garuva Restaurant and Bar at 324 - 328 Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley.
