CRASH OF A BOOMERANG
AT WRECK POINT, WA

Boomerang A46-25 of 85 Squadron RAAF, piloted by Sgt. R.H. McDonald hit a tree on the coastline at Wreck Point in Western Australia during Gunnery practice. The aircraft was badly damaged but the pilot managed to fly it back safely to its base. The port wing, lower engine cowl, fin, both wheels and the port tailplane were all damaged by the impact with the tree.
A46-25 was involved in an earlier accident on 18 May 1943.
