On November 22, 2001, suddenly, after a short illnes, at the Otago Community Hospice; in his 63rd year. Loving husband and companion of Alison, loved son of the late Pat and Jessie (late of Arrowtown), and brother of the later Sharyn, loved father of Leigh, Lara, Gary, Christine and Vicki, and a loved grandfather of his grandchildren.
"Peace at last." - A service will be held in St Patricks Basilica, MacAndrew Road, South Dunedin, at 10.30am, on Monday, November 26, followed by private cremation.

Gerry was cremated on 26 Nov 2001 at Anderson's Bay Cemetery, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand ,

Service held at St Patricks Basilica, Macandrew Road, South Dunedin, at 10.30am on Monday, November 26, followed by private cremation

Ashes were later scattered by family members out towards Arrowtown.4
