(Groom) Marriage28 Aug 1894Walter Charles Perry married Annie Jane Yates, daughter of Henry Yates and Agnes Bell Haigh, on 28 Aug 1894 at Masterton, Wairarapa, New Zealand ,

Wedding at Masterton

A wedding of more than usual interest was celebrated at St Matthew's Church, Masterton, by the Rev A V Grace, at noon to-day, the principals being Mr Walter Charles Perry - eldest son of Mr Walter Perry, of Masterton, and one of the most prominent and popular athletes in the district - and Miss Annie Jane Yates, fourth daughter of the late Mr Henry Yates, of Masterton. The church was packed long before the hour fixed for the ceremoney, and numbers were obliged to content themselves with a glimpse of the wedding party as it entered and left the church. The service was fully choral. Mr W Ford presided at the organ and played the "Wedding March".
The bride - who was given away by her brother, Mr Edward yates - looked remarkably well. She was attired in a very handsome cream embossed silk dress, trimmed with broche and silk lace, with the usual wreath, veil and orange blossoms. She also carried a very beautiful bridal shower bouquet.
Four bridesmaids were in attendance. The Misses Blanche Perry and Amy Yates, dressed in grey silk trimmed with pink, with cream hats trimmed with pale pink roses and silk lace, each wearing a fine gold brooch set with amethyst, the gift of the bridegroom and the Misses Ida Perry and Mabel Hare, dressed in pale pink cashmere, with white felt hats and cream lace, each wearing gold brooches with initials set in pearls, also the gift of the bridegroom.
Among the wedding guests were the bride's mother (Mrs A B Yates) in a handsome black silk, with black bonnet and pink roses; and Mrs Walter Perry in dark green with bonnet of amber and black, and numerous others, related to the bride and bridegroom.
The young couple were greeted with showers of rice and flowers on leaving the Church, and amidst the heartfelt good wishes of very many friends, drove off to the residence of the bride's mother, were a large party of guests sat down to the wedding breakfast.
Mr and Mrs Charles Perry leave for Wellington by this afternoon's train, and we unite with their many friends in wishing them future happiness and prosperity.1,2

Alexander Pickard

ID# 3579, (c 1735 - c 1800)
Birthc 1735Alexander Pickard was born c 1735 at Cramond, Midlothian, Scotland ,

No Baptism or Birth records are showing at this stage Oct 2016 for an Alexander in this time frame, except for one with a parent of George Piccard & Marjory Robertson in 1731, in Leith North Edinburghshire.
This may be Alexander's parents, but as I cannot locate a George or Marjory in his children or the descendants of Alexander, I do not want to commit to say this is his parents.
Lots more research is required as of yet.

(Groom) Marriage13 Jan 1755Alexander Pickard married Janet Stuart on 13 Jan 1755 at Cramond, Midlothian, Scotland ,

Alexander Pickard & Janet Stuart
being cited & called compeared and confessed that they were irregularly married & produced a Certificate of their marriage dated Edinburgh the thirteenth day of January one thousand seven hundred & fifty five (13 Jan 1755)

Witnesses: Thomas Watson & Janet Burket residents in Edinburgh & signed by Patrick Douglas, Minister.

They adhered to their marriage before the sesson. The Moderator sharply rebuked them & exhorted them to serious repentance -.1,2

Deathc 1800Alexander died c 1800 at Cramond, Midlothian, Scotland ,

No death or burial located at this stage Oct 2016, More research is required.

Research NoteResearch Note:
If Alexander and Janet followed the naming pattern of Scotland the following should be the parents of both
Alexander: Alexander & Helen
Janet: John & Mary

Alexander is definately an important name as I have located two births of sons called Alexander, so the first one most likely died young or at least before 1772.

Number of Children
Alexander and Janet had 6 Known Children
But are there any children between 1766 - 1772 ?
More reserach is required.

Research Note1776Research Note: in 1776
There is a marriage to a Jean Mason, 29 Aug 1776 Cramond, Midlothian via igi M116795

Time frame would be ok but due to an Alexander born in 1772 suspect that this Alexander died young or at least pre 1772.
