(Immigrant) Immigration12 May 1855Bridget Ryan immigrated on 12 May 1855 from Liverpool via the "Nashwauk" to Adelaide, South Australia, Australia,

The Nashwauk was wrecked at the mouth of Pedler's Creek.
She was carrying 300 Irish immigrants including 130 single girls bound for Adelaide. All passengers and crew were taken ashore, and either via boat or walked to Adelaide the next morning.

There are 2 Bridget Ryan's aboard this ship. One aged 24, a Dairy Maid, but also a Bridget Ryan aged 19, Domestic Servant.

Even though Bridget would really only be about 16/17yrs at this stage many girls put their ages up so that they could immigrate, and as she was going to go and stay with an Aunt this is a good possible for our Bridget.2
