Kittyhawk

Two Kittyhawks from 86 Squadron RAAF, piloted by Flying Officer G. Strout and Pilot Officer P.R. Evans collided in mid air just north of Townsville on 4 July 1945 during a cross-over-turn. F/O Strout made a forced landing at Garbutt airfield and P/O Evans force landed at Bohle River airfield. Neither pilot was injured. The Court of Enquiry offered cautionary advice.
