Little did they realise at the time that the training they were undertaking would support them during the difficult periods of the War and for some, in acts of outstanding heroism. The R.Q.A.C. still occupies the hangar today temporarily occupied in 1939 by No. 2 EFTS for pilot training.

Presented below is the sequence of arrival, formation, and disbandment of RAAF Squadrons and Units that played a significant part in shaping of Archerfield and the surrounding area during the years 1930 - 1950's for its future involvement in Queensland commercial aviation industry.
