ENEMY ACTIVITY Japanese aircraft raided HORN ISLAND on seventh July, 1942. Sixteen heavy bombers dropped between 180 and 200 fragmentation bombs. Armament Section, combustable stores hut burnt. Visiting crews sleep hut meteorological hut and duty pilots room wrecked. One portable refuelling unit, one Massy Harris tractor and one utility truck and two petrol water testers destroyed. |
