Brampton Island became an Army Camp where Malay soldiers were trained to infiltrate Japanese forces.
Craig Gordon told me about a book called "'Island That We Knew" by Valda Busuttin Winsor. It is the story of the Busuttin family on Brampton Island. On page 79 the book mentions a group of Australian commandoes searching for Japanese on the local islands.
