Dear Sir,

I refer to your letter dated 6th November, 1945, and desire to inform you that you have qualified for the 1939-45 Star, Air Crew Europe Star and Defence Medal as a result of your service with the Royal Australia Air Force.

Although eligible members may wear the ribbons of these awards with uniform, it is not proposed to strike the emblems for some considerable time.

It is regretted that ribbons are not yet available for issue to you. Stocks thereof are at present insufficient to meet the requirements of serving personnel, but as soon as adequate supplies become available, an issue will be made to discharged personnel. Your entitlement to this issue has been noted.

If you wish your Certificate of Service to show these awards, you may return the document and in lieu thereof an amended Certificate will be issued to you.
