16 Heavy Anti-aircraft Battery had an anti-aircraft position at Nelly Bay on Magnetic Island. Philip Dulhunty (philip@dulhunty.com) was stationed at this anti-aircraft battery during World War 2. He was also stationed at the Anti-aircraft battery at Mount St. John (Gunsite 393) in Townsville adjacent to Garbutt airfield.

He has sent me the following pictures of a recent nostalgic visit to the anti-aircraft battery location at Nelly Bay.
