COMMANDEERED BY THE MILITARY FOR WAAAF BARRACKS

"Whytecliffe" is a large building at the top end of Whytecliffe Street at Albion in Brisbane. It was taken over by the military during World War Two to be used as Barracks for the WAAAFs. It was used a a Marriage Reception area after the war.

Today, in the year 2001, it is in a sad state of repair, as a Retirement Village is being built right beside it.

There is a file in the National Archives of Australia on "Whytecliffe".
