CRASH OF A LOCKHEED HUDSON
ON NORFOLK ISLAND
ON 16 APRIL 1945

visits since 26 December 2001

On 16 April 1945, Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) Lockheed Hudson Mark III ", # 2010, was involved in collision on the ground on Norfolk Island.

WMU personnel lost control of a motor mower which collided with the rear portion of the port wing. The driver was lifting the cutting bar over a sheet of Marston matting near the Hudson when his foot slipped off the clutch and the sudden movement caused him to lose balance and fall to the ground. The driver was placed on a charge.
