CRASH OF A WIRRAWAY
INTO LAKE VICTORIA, NSW
ON 14 OCTOBER 1942

On 14 October 1942, RAAF Wirraway A20-499 from No. 2 Operational Training Unit (2 OTU) based at Mildura, Victoria, crashed into Lake Victoria in New South Wales. The pilot, 21 year old Flight Sergeant L.J. Wellington (407472), was killed in the crash.
