CRASH OF A SPITFIRE
INTO DARWIN HARBOUR
ON 5 OCTOBER 1944

On 5 October 1944, RAAF Spitfire A58-310 crashed into Darwin Harbour. It was being test flighted by Warrant Officer Cox of 7 Repair and Salvage Unit RAAF. Warrant Officer Cox was killed in this crash.

 

Can anyone help me with more information on this crash?
