On 12 June 1944, RAAF Spitfire A58-117 crashed near Point Blaze in the Darwin area after being hit by Japanese aircraft gunfire. On 15 June 1944 F/O H.W. Wraith and two airmen from 9 Repair and Salvage Unit RAAF, attempted an overland journey to reach the wrecked aircraft. They were held back by an impassable swamp.
Can anyone help me with more information on this crash?
