OVER GUN POINT, NT
ON 13 JUNE 1942

P-40 Kittyhawk

USAAF Kittyhawk #41-25181, #50 of the 8th Fighter Squadron of the 49th Fighter Group, piloted by Lt. Alford, was shot down over Gun Point in the Northern Territory on 13 June 1942. This aircraft was originally A29-96 of the RAAF.
