CRASH OF A KITTYHAWK
AT ADELAIDE RIVER, NT

On 31 October 1942, P-40 Kittyhawk, A29-116, #41-36097, of 77 Squadron, piloted by P/O Thomas W. Watson (RCAF J6206) blew a port tyre on takeoff from Adelaide River airfield. The aircraft was slightly damaged and landed without mishap. It was later repaired and returned to service.
