CRASH OF A TIGER MOTH
5 MILES SOUTH OF WESTERN JUNCTION
AT WOLLMERA LONGFORD, TAS
ON 11 JUNE 1943

On 11 June 1943, Tiger Moth A17-560 from No . 7 E.F.T.S. spun into the ground 5 miles south of Western Junction at Wollmera Longford in Tasmania. The aircraft was totally destroyed by fire.

The two crew members were killed as follows:-

F/O Steuart Fitton (254900)
LAC Alan Bruce Leake (419788)
