CRASH OF A HAWKER DEMON
AT PEARCE, WA
ON 18 MARCH 1939

visits since 13 January 2001

Hawker Demon A1-54 piloted by Bronte Pannell (242) crashed onto its nose at Pearce in Western Australia on 18 March 1939. It would appear that the brakes had been applied too enthusiastically after landing.

Hawker Demon A1-54 later crashed into the sea at an unknown location on 11 January 1940 and was was written off as a total loss.

Bronte Parnell later flew after the war with KLM in Indonesia with , David Daniel, father of Chris Daniel who forwarded me the photos below.
