Southern Suburbs Branch members of the Genealogical Society of Queensland Inc. meet at the Upper Mount Gravatt Scout Hall on Logan Road down the easement between Upper Mount Gravatt State School and the Progress Hall.

Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month (except December) at 7.30pm

The Library opens on Wednesday 9.30 - 2.00pm for research.

Members have the full benefits of belonging to the Genealogical Society of Queensland and in addition may attend the friendly monthly meetings with a Guest Speaker.

Recent Guest Speakers included:-

- Shauna Hicks speaking on Education Records,

- Marianne Eastgate on Coroner's Reports,

- Ken Farquhar on Early Australian Records

Members are also able to borrow Microfiche and readers, Books, Pamphlets and Journals from the library

Learn techniques and problem solving from other members.

The Branch publishes a quarterly Journal the "Southern Suburbs Scroll"

Join interesting outings to historical venues.

Hear about Seminars and Workshops being held by other organisations such as State Library, Queensland State Archives and Local History Groups.

The Branch holds a one day conference each year. 1996 was the year of "Computer Capers"

While 21 September 1997 is "Celtic Capers". There will be seminars on Irish, Scottish and Welsh records.
