66 ANTI-AIRCRAFT SEARCHLIGHT COMPANY (66 AASL COY)

66 Anti-aircraft Searchlight Company (66 AASL Coy) formed in Fremantle, Western Australia in May 1941. It initially comprised 2 officers and 18 Ordinary Ranks who had been detached from 55 AASL Coy.

During June and July 1941, 66 AASL Coy were trained in the AASL syllabus. This included particular attention to Manning Searclight stations under practice and alert conditions. They also did weapon drill training using the .303 rifle.

By July 1941, 66 AASL Coy had increased to 6 officers, 1 warrant officer, 45 NCO's and 267 Ordinary Ranks.
