CRASH OF A KITTYHAWK
AT BANKSTOWN AIRFIELD, NSW
ON 22 OCTOBER 1943

Kittyhawk A29-94, #41-25176, was involved in a crash at Bankstown airfield, in New South Wales on 22 October 1943. It was sent to 2AD for repairs and it was while it was still with 2 AD that it was involved in another crash near Taren Point, NSW on 24 February 1944. The wreckage was salvaged and converted to components after this second crash. 

This P-40 was delivered in May 1942 and taken on strength with 76 Squadron in late June 1942 and served with that Squadron at Milne Bay in New Guinea during August and September 1942.
